Food Insecurity Education Resource Center
According to a survey conducted by moveforhunger.org in 2019, 48% of students in two-year institutions and 41% of students at four-year institutions experienced food insecurity. This issue, in conjunction with homelessness and housing insecurity, impacted over six million individuals working to better themselves by earning a degree in 2020.
At FIERCe, we believe food is a basic human right. Many individuals within our community are faced with the difficult of not knowing where their next meal will come from. This site intends to assist those experiencing food insecurity by serving as a central access point for community resources and a reminder that you are not alone.

We’re a group of students participating in a social justice course at PCC SE Campus during the Fall 2022 semester. We, as a group, completed the most recent revision of the resource page. Many organizations have closed due to COVID, and food accessibility is more important than ever. We wanted to show up for our PCC community and community at-large by providing up-to-date resources so people may meet their needs.

We are a group of students participating in a Social Justice course at PCC Sylvania in the Fall of 2019. We come from diverse backgrounds and communities, and share is an understanding of the severity of this issue. We have created this website as a tool to help. Our goal is to reach PCC students and anyone else experiencing food insecurity and hunger.
