Student: "This is a nationwide issue. Financial aid needs to help with living expenses and food for all students with great financial need. It’s incredibly difficult to function normally and focus on your education when you are constantly stressed about starving or possibly not affording rent. We are poor and starving because the system keeps us that way. Fully able-bodied people can’t afford to get an education, can you imagine how hard it is for someone with a disability as well? We are trying to better ourselves but have to sacrifice so much and end up in significant debt. Did I mention, I’m pretty hungry."
